1)An independent film is a movie produced outside the major film studios,it's different to a Hollywood blockbuster because they already have an audience whereas independent films don't. 2) Its about a n 59 year old carpenter recovering from a heart attack befriends a single mother and her two kids as they navigate their way through the impersonal, benefits system.
